We are working with an external company that help us to prepare our project.

They have a skilled draftsman, who made several 3D model of the Vestas V90 3MW turbine and a beautiful computer model of the Istmeño - San Dionisio wind farm, that we are currently building on a sand bar in an internal lagoon in Oaxaca (Mexico).

Enjoy!

Here comes my collection of AutoTURN Nooteboom trucks for wind blades transport.

I’ve created them starting from several drawings, technical documentation and brochures I’ve found trough the years for the Teletrailer and Telestep. Of course I can’t guarantee they are correct, but until now they have worked – no truck has been stuck in a bend.

The main problem you will see if you work with AutoTURN is that you can’t use the reverse direction with this type of vehicle, although in real world situation we use it quite often: for this reason when I need to simulate it I use a standard truck, only “stretched” to the length of a Teletrailer.

The V100 is available in 2 version, with vertical and horizontal (that is, lying) blade as I’ve seen it transported in both ways.

With a fair wind – something interesting to read this summer (if you like wind farms)

If you are reading this blog,  chances are that you are somehow interested in wind energy.

And if you are looking for a good, interesting book on this topic I would suggest you to start from here: With a fair wind (full disclosure – I’ve written the chapter on Civil Works).

It is a book edited by the Esteyco Foundation, who was established more than 25 years ago with the aim of contributing to the progress of engineering and architecture.

There are quite a lot of contributors including Manfred Petersen, a very experienced wind farm foundations designer who is working at several interesting new technical concepts. They are coordinated by Ramón López, who in addition to his career as an Engineer is also very active as Triathlete.
